An inspired career change brought Amy Lawrence into her first tea business, Afternoon To Remember, an award-winning tearoom in Newcastle, California. Known for her warm hospitality and memorable teatime menus, hers was frequently voted the “Best Tearoom” in the Sacramento area.
Combining her experience in retail with her love of cooking and entertaining, she pursued her tea education and then made her love of whole leaf tea a major component of her relationship with customers. Cup-by-cup she shared her excitement about the world of tea with classes and focused tastings.
I still enjoy teaching and love to teach classes- particularly those held at the World Tea Expo for other tea room owners in Las Vegas. Teaching and supporting other tea room owners has become a huge passion for me. I am currently working on several new projects, including another cookbook and a book of resources for new tea room owners.
Making her most popular recipes available to her customers also helped them take the tea party experience home to share with family and friends. With eleven books now in print and another one the way, she now shares her decade-plus of experience with other tea entrepreneurs with her title, Master Tea Room Recipes, to support their success.
